Our Surfing courses

Pembrokeshire Surf School offers surfing courses at every level of ability. Beginner/Improver courses give you everything you need to start your new journey as a surfer. The Intermediate/Advanced course takes your skills to the next level, whether you’re a lifestyle surfer or aiming to compete. Performance coaching is our highest level of coaching, and looks in very fine detail at every element of your surfing to find areas to improve.

Beginner / Improver £35pp

Whether you want to learn the basics of surfing and beach safety, or improve your existing skills, we can teach you some vital surfer's knowledge to keep yourself and others having a good time.

What we’ll do

  • Meet and greet
  • Pembrokeshire coast national park location knowledge
  • Personal aims
  • Surfers knowledge (surf safety, surf technique, marine environment, best tide and swell for that surf spot, etiquette and rules)
  • Wetsuit size up and fitting
  • Surfboard size up and explanation of its parts and why this is important
  • Land based practice covering correct technique, positioning and balance, how to avoid injury from collisions with others, boards and the seabed
  • Feedback given and received throughout
  • Warm up
  • In water practice and drills to improve performance
  • Finish water based lesson
  • Review and actions for further improvement
  • Change and return equipment
  • Photos or video of your experience available (if weather allows footage)

How to Book

Int/Advanced: Price £20 per hour

Develop your existing surf skills, fine-tune your trim, bottom turn, top turn and cutbacks. Get in contact to discuss the best options for you. This will include video and movement analysis plus drills for improvement, or a long term training plan.

2-day / Weekend £199pp

Have you ever wanted to learn what is needed to become a surfer? This 2-day/weekend course is perfect for adults at the beginning of their surf journey.

Outcomes:

Know how to choose the right board/s

Know how to interpret surf forecasts i.e. where to go based on the forecast /tide /swell

Understand how tides work and how a surfer uses this to their advantage

Know the hazards

Experience using a variety of surfboards

Know the key surfing manoeuvres

Know and apply surf etiquette

Knowledge of the beach and marine environment

Take home a training plan for improvement

Take home Photo’s and video of you surfing.

Adults only 16+ learning to be surfers

Parents of young surfers wishing to learn what is needed to help develop their skills


Previous experience?

None required -even if you have done multiple beginner lessons this course will still be for you.

Local Kid's Surf Club

Join the Pembrokeshire Surf School Kid’s Club for a summer of fun in the waves. Our Kid’s Club runs 1 Hour every day after school from 1st May to 31st October.
